Tarver never dropped Jones with a right hand. It was a left hook. The pictures you showed don't go with the KD.

KO'd. But still not the right footage. It was a left hand and Jones had his guard up.

Are you going to post any pictures of Jones wins or are you only focused on his losses?

you don't need me to post pictures of his wins; infact, i agree with you, jones was great, but now he's b-class. his skills have diminished, and at a time when most older fighters are able to use their experience to their advantage, jones is clearly unable too, because he never had enough discipline to get the basics down.

I like him too, I just don't think his nickname is fitting. As for moving Valuev, I don't think may people could.

I think Chagaev would give Wlad a good fight. Valuev is very intimidating looking, plus his head is like granite I would like to see him fight Wlad someday.

    Strictly speaking, TKO'd I believe.

Jones beat the count . He was up at 8, but on ***** street, as they say. The ref stopped it there, hence TKO.

    With Johnson, it was KTFO.

Prime Roy didn't need the basics. (Ali was not all that into basics either) Both men were unorthodox and successful with it and hence didn't NEED the basics, whilst they were at prime.

With 50 or so fights , being undefeated over 15 years and being 34, had Roy retired after Ruiz (or even after Tarver (1), and having dominated three weight classes and losing probably fewer than 30 rounds in 50 fights, at least two fights with just ONE hand, and given his KO percentage and total domination of every opponent, including great champions like Toney and Hopkins, and a host of lesser champions, all his own size or bigger, and capping it off with capturing John Ruiz's piece of the heavywt title (The same Ruiz who had mastered Holyfield), he would cetrainly be considered as a top five (or higher) ATG at ANY weight.

Even ignoring what such a legacy would have meant, I don't see anyone, not even SRR, who could have beaten prime Roy at 160 or 168, and probably at 175.

Many ATGs never fought as many fights nor fought past 34. He could have stopped there, and probably should have.

If Roger Federer plays Tennis into his 50's and never wins another major after 35, his current accomplishments won't be diminished by the fact that he stayed on past his stale date.

There is another dimension to greatness , that is related to longevity (BHop, Foreman, and to a lesser degree, Duran and Holmes). And I won't diminish that type of greatness, but head to head prime is where I put the greatest stock when I ask: Who was the greatest on a given night ?

If Carl Lewis had competed in the 100m well past his prime, and if he was able to run 100m in 9.9 seconds at 45 years old, the alltime fastest 100m runner would still be Asafa Powel (assuming his record stands), even if he retires at 26. It wouldn't matter how good Lewis was for how long. The best ever 100m man would still be Powell.

Similarly, in his prime, which was of a decent length, Roy was the best 160/168 we have had on the planet so far.

FOr that reason, in answer to the thread question posed by Sheehan, I believe he is the best ever at 160/ 168 and might be the best boxer ever.

    Can't read, can't write, can't think.

And now we can add: can't SEE to the list.

That would explain your entire analysis of boxing on this forum so far.

    You're blind ! Your eyes don't work.

(I got nothin' against blind folks but they shouldn't try to analyse boxing bouts.)

...Or maybe you can see, and maybe you just can't tell left from right ?

( or your ass from a hole in the ground. )
