At some point in his career he was just unbeatable and beated the best outthere, but I keep hearing somebody discrediting Jones for ducking people, (like Mayweather does) Im unfortunately not old enough to remember a prime Jones. So tell me who did he duck? And how do you rank him as an ATG?

I dont think he ducked anyone. Fights fell through with DM and a rematch with Hopkins for various reasons, one fighter not wanting to leave his country and the other over money, but for the most part Jones resume is solid in my opinion, with some soft touches mixed in.

he was in limbo but staying active for a good while..

he was avoided and had an attitude of not traveling to meet .... and it seemed like certain doom for overseas cats like calzaghe and such back then....

He didnt duck anybody in my opinion, people say he ducked Steve Collins,Nigel Benn,a rematch with Hopkins,Darius michaelczewski..
If he had of retired after beating John Ruiz i would have ranked him in maybe the top 15 or 20..
But now id rank him around top 40..

He didn't duck anyone, how can he duck anyone when he was the one trying to fight Calzaghe back when he was young but couldn't get it? he also called out the likes of Benn, Lyles, Collins(He was called over Ubank because he beat Ubank at the time) and other of those British "beast" fighters they think the world ducked but it was the other way around.

How can he duck anyone when his targets were always champions or mandatory title defenses?, ones that start cases about him ducking are worthless fools who have absolutely NOTHING worth mentioning to back that up.

How is that? How do his defeats erase his accomplishments? How can what he was in his prime be obscured in any way by his performances well past his prime? I never get this. This is the kind of talk you hear about fighters who linger on, while they're active. Nobody out there is going "I had Duran ranked in the top ten but then he lost to Joppy, now he's top 60...etc.

...You mean like Ali losing to Spinks? Or do you mean more like when Leonard lost to Norris?

I think its different from Leanords or Ali's losses. Roy's been knocked out 3times and got outclassed by Calzaghe. Only recent and decent win was fighting an overweight Trinidad. Look at Evander, his legacy is totally tarnished.

No, Holyfield's legacy isn't tarnished if you only mean by his recent losses. They're insignificant. You cannot erase accomplishments. Hearns/Barkley? Did that really tarnish Tommy's legacy? Toney/Peter? There are hundreds of examples of great fighters losing well past their best to far lesser fighters. It doesn't change what's been achieved. You think McBride altered Tyson's legacy somehow? Come the **** on, man.
