why is he still fighting? is the cruiserweight belt that illustrious?

  3. There's a certain level of fighter that he'll be more than capable of beating for quite some time, and for me that's a fair bit above this guy who he's facing next.

As shot as he undoubtedly is, he did lose to Lebedev in his last fight, not some scrub.

In an ideal world he'd have packed it in years ago, after the bad defeat to Johnson. Strange that he's become more risk averse as he's got older, in his prime he wasn't all that keen on fighting anyone particularly dangerous.

I hope he loses just because the other guy is active. He needs a reason to retire now and hopefully more losses will do it because nothing else will.

Didn't even realise he had another fight scheduled.

Roy definitely looks like he's gonna clinic this one though.

Roy's after a cruiserweight belt to complete his set. But the main reason he keeps fighting is apparently to pay off his debts.

Can't imagine how many millions he must have squandered :patsch

Roy Jones is going to fight until the end, until he can't give no more. That's what warriors do, it's just their way of life man. They all do it, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Joe Louis, Shane Mosley of late? Went until there was no more.........Danny Williams! Is another guy, who is going until the complete end! Until there's no more! No more! Until they are not there no more!

James Toney is also another guy on this path of warriors ending..

They all go until the end, and if they are to be beaten down badly, then so be it. To take a beating and fight until the utter end, knowing sometimes that you cannot win? That's bravey, that's honour, that is courage.

Ultimately all of there training, and experiences and preparation through their life and careers! Ultiamatly is to prepare them for the End! A warriors Ending is his biggest fight! He cannot win it, but he can end with dignity!

For me Roy Jones is adding to his legacy, he is proving his warrior spirit right Now? All these things people questioned. He proved it against Calzaghe, and could of retired then but no? Warriors go until the end! Until there is no more.

    Nothing left!!!!

I understand this, it's a way of life.

And whatever way this ends? It's going to be sad, but also a beautiful thing. Not matter how bad and sad it gets, some soldiers would rather die on the battle field, because that's the closest to a hero they will ever be. And I honestly think this is the same with some fighters, Lewis Hamilton also stated that if he died racing, doing what he loved? Then so be it.

Bernard Hopkins stated before his fight with Chad Dawson, that he is one of the last of a dying breed.....

Roy Jones is one of them dying breed of fighters warriors.

A warriors ending is his choice and his choice alone, it is a way of life. To live any other way is to be untrue to one self....it is a Beautiful thing and something that is lost in modern society these days.

Sometimes you have to be willing to die, that has to be the mentality. If you die fighting, die trying you will never give up! As Long as you live!

    Antonio Margarito had this mentality...

Admirable. But modern society has a different view.

When Roy can no longer pass his medical, and that time will come. They'll hang his gloves up for him.
