Not sure that should have been stopped when it was. I know he was not firing back, but he blocked the majority of the barage of punches that were coming his way. I feel so bad for Roy. What a sad day for boxing I hate to say it and wish he would retire but after a loss like that i see him coming back for one more fight.
What a bunch of dumb****s. Green got lucky? even the sun shines on a dog's ass from time to time? look at the round kids Green looked in complete control in there. Jones snappy jab never once touched green's face, and roy's speed wasn't much faster than green's. Danny kept stalking RJJ effectively and stayed in a perfect range. The second roy's back hit the ropes is when danny went to work, and he landed a well timed right over a jab to the body. It's not his fault jones turned his head. Danny's team planned and trained for this fight, and it showed. Green vs hopkins is a very well matched fight. I hope green keeps up this fire, as he has just added a major spark to the lightheavyweight division. Can you imagine Cloud vs. Green?
retire roy.... youve earned your place in boxing history :good. And youve proven me wrong in the process, retire champ
WTF happended there. Didnt even look like Green hit him clean. Also roy took alot of shots which he didnt see after the 1st knockdown and didnt go down. Maybe he just cant hold a shot but its strange the way he took those shots after being knocked down.
It looked like Jones took a couple of clean shots before the ref decided to step in and stop it.........but I agree with you, Jones was not falling over himself........he was'nt throwing back because he was still trying to clear his head of the knockdown shot..... .......I thought the ref should have let it continue because Jones was far from being defenseless. Not taking anything from Danny Green at all, in fact I dont even like Roy Jones Jr.........but the fact that they were in Green's backyard imo contributed to the stoppage call. Having said that, Jones is nowhere near the upper echelon and has'nt been there for years.
I think it was cause of all the showboating he did against D-Grade opponents. I'm a fan of his but honestly I have to say some of that was painful to watch.
