I just don't buy that he was permanently glass chinned from.cutting a lot of weight ONCE. And he didn't get KO'd the first fight after the weight cut, but the second one.

    Tarver had his number.

If Tarver had his number how did he lose the first fight? Also the fact he was complaining about the weight cut in the first which he won, shows long term weight cutting clearly affected him even despite winning

What savage punchers did he avoid? I wouldn't characterize Tarver or Johnson as particularly savage punchers personally. Who did they stop besides Roy himself?

Death threats? That's ****ing insane. In any discussion, but certainly about boxing. Sad to hear that such craziness exists here and that you have been subjected to it.

My take on RJJ-Tarver is that Jones had lost a step at 35, and as many here has said that gets amplified for a fighter constantly living on the margins. But he didn't look bad at all until the punch, so he probably had a fair amount left. But sometimes a single punch just changes everything.

One of the most obvious and tragic cases is if course Watson-Eubank 2. Watson wasn't china chinned, but in that particular moment one punch changed everything. It does at times. I think Jones-Tarver was a less dramatic example of that. Boxing is Russian roulette in that sense. One punch and nothing's the same afterwards. It can hardly be argued that the Jones that came out of the Tarver fights wasn't very different to the one who went into them.

Had Tarver landed that punch if the fight had taken place say five years earlier? Maybe, maybe not. But that one punch is always a possibility in boxing.

It comes with the territory. I know from first-hand experience just how unhinged, batpoop crazy, obsessive and ultimately how incredibly dangerous the RoJo cult is and the lengths they're willing to go in order to protect the reputation of their glass-jawed Messiah. However, I won't be bullied and intimidated into silence like so many other Roy truth tellers have been by the RoJo enforcers. If they turn up at my front door they will inadvertently be unlocking the gates of hell

Did not know that RJJ fans were especially crazy. Just another instance where I just don't understand certain people.
