And 1992, after his 20th pro fight with Percy "No Mercy" Harris, before his first world title:

Great example of how critics (mostly unjust) can affect a fighters persona.

I don't see the point here. Five years is along time and i've seen peoples attitudes change depending on their moods within days, hours and even minutes.

One thing I did notice though is that I could understand the '92 Jones much easier than the '97 version or the Jones of today. He mumbles terribly now.

All I saw was a tough talented boxer with alot of pride who hated critism and felt he was unappreciated, trying to prove to everyone he was the #1 P4P. Roy should have recognised that with Success comes the Army of haters( mo money mo problems!!!). Perfect examples with todays current fighter- Manny Pacquiao- Haters!!! (I am one :D), Floyd Mayweather -Haters, Wlad & Vitali Klit- Haters.

if roy had ever come to europe he would have been exposed much earlier than he was.

instead he hid behind a bad decision he got as an amateur.

eubank, benn, calzaghe, DM - instead of taking on the real challenges he chose to fight civil servants and sanitation workers in america instead and pulled the wool over an entire nations eyes.

hell, even mcllelan or nunn would have exposed jones, but roy was too busy pretending to be mcllelans best friend so he didn't have to fight him.

Eubank? Benn? Two good warriors. Not in RJJ's league.

DM and Calzaghe are closer, but would eventually lose to a prime RJJ. That is clear.

Then they should have fought some of the prize fighters he beat and done it in convincing fashion to prove he was ducking them. I could easily say they were ducking him and shouting his name across the ocean for attention:D

if glen johnson can spark out jones then imagine what power punchers like benn, mcclelan, DM, and eubank would of done. jones would have been out on his back for a count of 4000.

calzaghe beats jones at anytime in his career because he could adapt to an opponent and roy never had a plan B or showed any heart when the going got tough. nunn would have boxed his head off as well.

like i say, roy pulled the wool over the eyes of 300 million gullable americans.
