Maybe his friends see's something that we dont see. And also, his friend really doesnt know too much about boxing so maybe he was just looking for some kind of comparisions. But what we can all agree on is that Roy has great footwork.

Bruce Lee learned western fencing techniques from his brother Peter Lee, who was a champion fencer at the time. This multi-faceted exposure to different fighting arts would later play an influence in the creation of the eclectic martial art Jeet Kune Do.Bruce Lee got his stance from fencing.Bruce was also trained in Western boxing and won the 1958 Boxing Championship match against 3-time champion Gary Elms by knockout in the 3rd round. Before arriving to the finals against Elms, Lee had knocked out 3 straight boxers in the first round, in my opinon bruce lee could have been a world champion boxer if he ever took it up professionally.Roy jones stance doesnt look anything like a karate stance lol

Here's the straight facts, coming from someone who has spent too much time thinking about fighting in general.

The closer a fighter, no matter what his discipline sport or style, comes to perfection, the closer they will come to appearing similar to the greatest modern martial artists (for isntance, Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard, Ali etc.)

The reason for this is that more than any stance, hand position, forms, footwork, yada yada . . . what great fighting comes down to is the philosophy that a fighter brings to the fight (only if they have the physical perfection to back it up OF COURSE).

The basic philosphy that any fighter in any situation should follow is basically best described in Sun Tzu's The Art of War.

If you don't believe me, then you've probably never read a good translation of the book and you are REALLY missing out.

Not doubting you or anything, but when was it proven that Karate and especially Kung-Fu are useless?

I agree with that, I never reall payed attention to it, I honestly just think RJ was blessed with soo much athletic talent. That his footwork and movement was just always gonna b good. It came natural 2 him
