Trinidad managed to outscore Jones in the number of punches thrown though. He threw 552 in their fight compared to Jones' 482, and this is a shot, heavy Tito. Even Hanshaw outlanded Jones, 281 to 177. And threw an average of 72 punches per round. The fact is, all 4 of those opponents you mentioned fought the 168 version of Jones, perhaps the best he's ever been, in 94-95. Prior to him going up to heavy, coming back down and getting KO'd twice and decisioned. Recently, the facts are all to different. He no longer has the aura of invincibility, nor the speed or reflexes to make opponents approach cautiously and drop their output in fear of getting countered. Calzaghe won't drop his output, if he does, it will be by a very small margin.
joe's output won't be as low as the Hopkins fight that is for sure. I think we may see some very exciting exchanges in this fight
yea but even in the trinidad fight his connect % was much higher than Tito's by the end of the night...so higher connect percentage and less punches thrown means a much more frugal Roy...which can be a dangerous one...i think Roy will finally have to use his wit in this fight to outsmart the workrate of JC...but i see him doing so... I see a Mayweather vs. DLH type fight...where the cleaner landing shots make Calz's slapping frenzy look bad and the judges go with Jones...
