"Both are knockout guys. Both knocked out Ricky Hatton. This is the biggest fight for both of their careers. Both guys are capable of knocking out everybody in their respective weight class, " Jones said. "Neither guy wants to go home the loser the next day. Fans have been waiting for this fight for five years. The pressure is on both guys." "I think Floyd will have to knock him out to win. I think if there’s a decision, I think Pacquiao wins the decision."
Roy is a boxing genius no doubt. I don't always agree with what he says though, Floyd having to KO Pac to win being one.
Roy's take is that Pac's work rate and speed will get him more points than Floyd over 12 rounds. I just don't think Pac will fight like Roy thinks he will. I think Pac will not be as busy and fight smarter. From watching Roach interviews and reading what he has been saying, it seems the strategy will be to keep moving, be in/out and limit combinations to 2-3 punches, not 5+ combos.... I expect Pac to be less busy but more accurate.
I think they are going to use the Oscar De La Hoya strategy. Set traps, time, counter, get in then get OUT. Only time Pac would amp up the combos is if Floyd is fatigued, hurt, or on the ropes. That's at least what Roach is making it sound like.
did stephen a smith act like as re****ed as he did the day Pacquaio was on? It was so clear he was trying to kiss floyds ass and suck up to him.
they are also betting on Floyd to get tired and then take advantage. Roach keeps saying Flody's legs are shot and he 'takes breaks' now. I love freddie Roach, he is the biggest trash talker in boxing.
Floyd doesn't have to get a KO, if he can beat Manny convincingly. If the fight is a close fight, then he's going to have to, so it won't go to the score cards.
Evander Holyfield thinks somewhat along the lines of Roy Jones. Holyfield believes politics will enter into it and Pacquiao will get the decision if it goes the distance.
