Both could look amazing against garbage to average/semi good opponents, both were massively hyped by media due to being great showman against garbagemen/policemen, both had no answer when they stepped up to good/elite EXPERIENCED fighters once they realised they couldnt rely solely on their reflexes.
Big fan of RJJ and Hamed. No need to bash the thread starter though. A lot of people agree with him, and I do as well to a certain extent.
Getting silly now. People are trying to downplay how good jones used to be in order to claim or at least suggest that Calzaghe would've beaten him no matter when they fought. Fact is, when Jones was a supermiddleweight he would've beaten Calzaghe, no question of it. He did knock over more than his share of stiffy's though He is similar to Naz Hamster in other ways though, he is at least as much of a *****. Shocking to me that so many americans like him, everyone in the uk hates Naz for being a twat, odd how Jones got away with it over there.
I hope the threadstarter gets ran over by a bus, his intestines spill all over the street, everyone stops to point and laugh, and spits on his mangled corpse until he dies a slow, agonizing death. That would be hilarious.
I agree ..... a little. But Roy Jones JR is officially a boxing hall of famer. His is a legend. Hamed isn't.
Rewatch that fight and tell me Toney looks great plodding round the ring with zero footwork throwing 10 punches a round. The USA media also had Lacy and Pavlik pegged as greats.
Also, anyone who even slightly agrees or takes any of that into consideration can put nails in between their toes and kick a wall repeatedly.
