Hamed is one of my all time favorite fighters. I was heart broken when he lost to MAB but he was no hype job. He's a HOF fighter who brought a lot of attention to the lower weight classes but not on Jones' level.
Okay, I'll bite, it looks like this danjordan guy might actually believe his own crap... Jones was a waaay better fighter than Hamed, mate... For one thing Hamed had do Defense... Unless you count all that weird leaning and punching **** he used to do that made him look like a living incarnation of a ****ing fightnight video game character.... Remeber that fight against Kelley where he hit the canvas multiple times? You can sing the praises about his chin all you want but if he's gonna point it up in the air all night it means sweet **** all! Even leading into the Barrera fight he was knockedto the canvas by Augie Sanchez in an extremely scrappy, untidy affair. P4P Jones would have eaten him alive! Then he got manhandled by Barrera (Fundamentals and good timing all day) ... Roy Jones, 10 times the fighter that Hamed ever was, silly kid...
Great thread. I've made a poll to establish the KING of these two hype jobs. Now go vote! http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=103610
I think it is a valid comparison. Roy of course has the better resume, but they both relied A LOT on natural reflexes and when the reflexes went they both declined rapidly. Good comparison. And I am saying this while still considering Roy one of my top 5 favorite fighters. Naseem is a disgusting human being, but I really enjoyed watching him when he was at his best.
