Boxers should learn all they can about investing and saving money while they're still in the prime of their careers. Unfortunately that kind of sense and boxing prowess are a rare combination, which is why we see so many legends fighting past their best.

 

If I'm not mistaken Toney didn't see a penny from that farce involving Couture, it went straight to the IRS.

 

It'll be a boxing match if it happens, and a 60 year old RJJ could beat Silva in boxing.

Take a few courses, read a book for an hour a day etc. Beats having to get your brains bashed in fighting past your best!

 

if it's boxing, then I think it's an even fight (cuz of roy's age) ... MMA, Roy would get killed like Toney did

Battle of the has beens. UFC loves these type of fights. They lure an old untrained Toney or Mercer into the octagon and then pretend like boxing sucks for another decade.

 

Have you seen how weak Silva's striking has become? No accuracy, and the one punch power is long gone. Not sure if it is age, or the new P.E.D. testing policy that UFC put in place a couple summers ago. Roy Jones would beat Silva's arse in the boxing ring.

 

This fight is like a decade too late.

Before the fight with weldum when he broke his leg, roy around this time might have still had a little left in the tank to at least make it entertaining.

Now? Theyre both garbage. Even from a legacy point of view it does nothing, i dont even think it would sell much considering how badly damaged and old they are (even casuals are aware of this).

The people around Roy clearly dont care about him or theyve simply given up trying to get him to stop. Idc how badly youre in debt, you dont keep fighting over a decade past your prime, get koed repeatedly by bums and 20 year olds and then insist on giving it another go. He deserves whatever happens. And whatever doctor and sanctioning bodies keep allowing him to fight are POS. At some point you need to have some dignity and ban him. How on Earth is this acceptable in 2017?

Have you paid attention to Silva post Weidman? Silva's accuracy is gone, so is his one punch knockout power, and his ferocious offense. Jones will murder him in the boxing ring. The fight will last as long as Jones wants it to.

 

Roy would never fight Silva in the octagon.

It would be a boxing match.

 

Nobody's going to talk Roy out of fighting. He still feels good in the gym and he's still motivated. He's been doing this since a young boy.

The doctors and sanctioning bodies can't ban him because he's passing all of their tests.

It's acceptable because he can still fight at a low level.
