These are not the best images of Roy , but I do get your point the Benn who fought McClellen would give Jones hell. I personally believe Benn is the absolute nightmare Jones wouldnt want in any part of his career.
i grew up watching benn from the start of his career and he was ****in electric in that ring, he was pure entertainment. its a shame him and jones couldn't get it on but roy was always more interested in taking banned substances and fighting sanitation workers and civil servants than he was in taking on real challenges like benn, mcclellan, eubank, nunn, collins, DM etc etc.
At the reason why Jones didnt go anywhere near Benn. Those fast hands and aggression of Benn would have swarmed Jones
I must admit I've seen a few better moments of Roy, and a few lesser moments of Benn in their careers... Loved the Benn vs Eubank rivalry :bbb Never really felt sorry for McClellan after the Benn fight, saw the documentry of his current state also and while I'm quite a sensitive sucker it didn't do much for me.
Ko`d by a jab? :huhWho was that by then? And don`t say Micheal Watson.Your comment sounds ridiculous to me.
As has been said, Benn was pure electric - but he didnt take the best of punches. His tenacity against McClellan usually overshadows his undoubted weaknesses.
Yeah he was knocked down by a Doug Dewit right hand but he immediately was back up and went on to batter him but he was never ko`d by a jab like that idiot said.
This could have been a great fight but Jones avoided so many SMWs and went up to LHW where he only had Michalczewski to hide from. At SMW Jones wouldnt go near Benn, Eubank, McClellan, Collins when he became a SMW and ran from Calzaghe. Still he had a very good career, just not against the real live challengers at SMW or LHW
