Had that fight continued it would have been Glen Johnson all over again. Jones has no Chin. When are you nuthuggers going to realize this? He has a fragile Glass Jaw and always has.

I think the stoppage was fine.

British refs have a reputation for stopping fights too early - especially this ref..... but Jones wasn't firing back and his legs had gone.

I'd rather see early stoppages than potentially dangerously late ones.

His legs were gone he went like a minute without answering. He looked done. And he did not protest in the ring. Anybody can protest a day or two later when it sinks in.

If he really feels it was premature, then push for a rematch.

Green was almost spent out with this constant bombing while Jones
covered for the whole minute and his strength was growing up.

The ref simply saved Green from exhaustion and clearly robbed Jones who was preparing
himself mentally and physically for Ko Green before the end of first round.

Lets be honest. RJJ was hurt badly by a grazing shot to the temple that did not even look that hard. Ref saved him from a brutal KO.

Man Roy didn't throw back. Didn't move. Didn't initiate a clinch.

Sure the ref could have let it go on, but had RJJ be hit and seriously messed up on that ref's watch? The boxing community would have had his head. You can't fault the ref for that.

I say this as a big time RJJ fan.

Yeah, when I first looked at the tape of the whole fight, I thought the ref stopped it too early.
I still think it should have been left to continue a little longer.......

....but honestly I dont think anyone has a right to bash on the ref, when the facts are Jones was not firing back.

I thought it should have been allowed to go on a little longer because Jones had his hands up and was defending what was incoming.

......but I do think Green got in with some clean shots that shook Jones right before the ref waved it off.

.......and you're absolutely right, Jones did'nt complain when the fight was stopped.....I dont even believe he complained while he was in the ring afterward.

.......its easy to do the complaining now that Jones is up and feeling fine.

Seeing that Jones did not complain at the time of stoppage, I've got to believe that the ref had a closer look at it than we did, and that Jones probably was'nt in any condition to continue battling.

.........I'm not a Roy Jones fan, but it truly would have been heartbreaking for all involved to have seen him flat on his back and asleep, as was the case in his fight with Glenn Johnson.

Jones did'nt complain in the ring, I dont think any of us here should either.

fair stoppage. retirement is in order, more like backorder since it should have been done much earlier.

He did clinch, the ref just broke the clinch immediately and didn't allow for any infighting.

    :rofl:patsch

Jones was knocked down by the first meaningful punch that was landed in the fight. He has NO CHIN. NONE. Never has. The guy is a Glass Jawed fraud and is full of ridiculous excuses every time he loses a damn fight.

Just admit your Chin is garbage quit wasting everyone's time and retire.
