You will be surprised at how quickly the retirement ends if/when the money is right.

Normally beating a 1 dimensional slugger gets you nowhere in terms of positioning and fan regard, unless that slugger is named Felix Trinidad.

Well he is a nice guy, plus this thread is about if Roy by some act of god or a time machine, beats Joe.

rjj would have a slim chance of beating calzaghe, and hopkins has no chance of even being competitive.

How does Roy have a slim chance? The pace he set against Trinidad was a pace that he actually had to pace himself with, now think about Calzaghe's frantic pace.

These old guys are done, plain and simple.

    :patsch

That's always been close to Jones' pace. He was neve one to throw a lot of punches in a round. He picked his punches carefully.

You really should not comment on fighters you know nothing about. Stick to posting love letters about Calzaghe and...... :huh

If he were to beat the winner of Hops/Calzaghe I think he deserves a number 7 spot right now ..All time it would have to move him in the top 50 ..I can't think of any fighter that could go from middle all the way up to heavy come back down lose twice after getting ko'ed then going on to beat a top ten lt heavy or super middle for that matter ..It be the first in boxing history if I'm not mistaken ..

How could anyone possibly rank Jones a top 5 p4p even if he beats Cal or Bernard?

He's not a top five light heavyweight right now. P4P?

There's too much talent from other divisions that Jones would have to jump and keep this in perspective...

Jones arguably lost to Tarver three times and was KO'ed by Glenn Johnson. Since then he beat a couple of no name guys and an inactive former welterweight who fought only 24 rounds since 2001 and was 2-2 at anything above 154.

This win meant nothing. Two fighters past their primes that were trying to collect a payday. Exciting...sort of. Meaningful...hell nah.

The topic and my response to it is that Roy is so shot he should retire and not embarrass himself further against either Bhop or Joe C. Roy is a has- been and should retire. How more relevant to the the thread can I be.

Dont feel bad Im a Tito fan and he is done and should also retire. Im a boxing fan 1st and these fights by marquee names who are shot are not good for the sport, move on the winner of Bhop v Slappy Joe should fight Dawson period. Anything less is a sham.
