I was a bit surprised and kind of happy to see Roy Jones, who I consider to be a true expert, pick Salvador Sanchez as his # 3 all time great P4P fighter after Ali and Robinson ... he excluded himself but said after three it was a decline of a class ... thoughts ?

Great fighter but resume is too lacking for such a high position, if it comes to pure skill and talent it's arguable

Great fighter, could maybe argue for him cracking the top 5 at 126, but top 3 all time at any weight? Blimey. It's an original opinion I suppose.

    He's my #5 at FW. Great fighter, #3 p4p seems a strange pick, though I don't know Roy's criteria.

This proves Roy suffered some serious damage in all those brutal ko losses.

Interesting, not invalid choice imo. I'd put Sanchez in the top 10 ATGs pfp for sure.

I have to declare Armstrong and Duran and Louis as greater, though. Probably one or two more, I'd have to think about it.

Mayweather's in that 10 as well, but I wouldn't quite put him above SS.

Where would you rank SRR, Greb, Langford, Charles, Fitzsimmons, B. Leonard, Ali and Pep? Most would consider them as greater than Sanchez, though it depends on your criteria of course.

Love Sanchez but I’d say he’s #3 from Mexico and perhaps #3 at 126 but I don’t think he’s in legit contention to be among the top 20-30 fighters ever if we are talking overall. His talent level was high but he also struggled in title fights more than he should have with a few guys, Ford in particular.

Fair play to you for posting. You have Hearns and Sanchez way higher than me, whilst Greb and Langford are the highest on my list not on yours:

    SRR
    Greb
    Langford
    Armstrong
    Charles
    Fitzsimmons
    Duran
    B. Leonard
    Louis
    Ali

Nice list, Noel. Fair play for posting.

9 of your top 10 are in my 10, and the only one that isn't, Pep, is my number 11.

I have Gans, McFarland and Ross in my top 20, so our 11-20 differ a bit more, but no big deal.

I'd be interested to hear your rational for having Canzeroni and, in particular McLarnin, above Ross.
