Have you ever seen Roy Jones, and Roy Jones Jr. fight?

I was awake most of the night, and watching a lot of old boxing videos.

I have never heard of these two Men but I was really impressed with their ability. Wow!

There is a lot more videos to be found on Jr.

How about you Guys; how do you feel about these two?

Unfortunately, my views on Jones Jr are tainted by his use of performance enhancers. Incredible talent, but a weak resume comparatively.

Your are probably the most mindless, delusional Roid Jones fanboy out there.

Even clueless spastics like Loudunce and GIMPerial1 don't spout the same drivel you do.

    Weak? lets see
John Ruiz, Antonio Tarver, Virgil Hill, Montell Griffin, Mike McCallum, Tony Thornton, James Toney, Thomas Tate, Bernard Hopkins, Jorge Castro, Otis Grant, Felix Trinidad, Jeff Lacy, ....those are just his bigger wins in which none of the above had ever had another fighter dominate them that easily barring the Trinidad win which was a weak downhill RJJ

One he slowed down he started having issues and losing to such lowly fighters as Calzaghe, Hopkins and Lebedev

I meant weak in comparison to his talent. Some people try and make out that he was one of the greatest fighters to ever live, when his resume simply doesn't show it. There's no way I can put him above people like Charles or Moore, or even Mayweather and Pacquaio p4p all time.

Besides, Hopkins was green, McCallum was as old as an Oak tree, Trinidad was way past his best weight and a non entity, and those other names would never let him factor in as one of the greatest ever. And those are his stronger wins! Jones spent years of his career fighting postmen and a literal garbage collector.

He is also a proven cheater.

You said his resume was weak, got proved wrong then you go on basically saying none of his good wins count. RJJ is one of three men to win titles at middle weight and heavy weight. Like it or not he is of the best fighters ever

His resume isn't weak. It just doesn't compare to other ATGs, that he is regularly compared to and called better than. He also had the talent to beat several ATGs H2H, but his resume doesn't reflect that.

Is that the same literal garbage collector who beat Dariusz Michalczewski and went lineal after Roy embarrassed him?

And Roy was pretty green himself when he fought Hopkins (in fact he’d had less pro fights than Bernard from memory). They were evenly matched but Jones was better at that point, simply put. It was and remains a impressive win over a quality fighter.

Actually I’m surprised you didn’t trot out James Toney being weight drained as well (like that was Roy’s fault even if it were true which I doubt) to complete the standard Jones hater trifecta.

    I'm not a Jones hater.
I simply said Jones resume does not live up to what people say of him, and his level of H2H talent.
Toney was a great win for Jones, his best win. But I don't see it as reason to call him 'the greatest fighter ever' as some do.
Jones is a great fighter. I just think his resume does not match up to his level of talent and hype.
Besides, Roy was also a roider. He was 6x over the Testosterone : Oestrogen ratio, against Richard Hall, who was also over by 10x.

While we talking bout Roy, I can hardly imagine any man beating him, but I wonder if I could still think that if he wasn't on steroids. Theres always gonna be that big mark next to his name for me same as canelo, how good were they if they wernt on steroids? How many of their opponents deserved to beat them?

How can you say that Roy has better resume than:

    Bob Fitzsimmons
    Sam Langford
    Harry Greb
    Archie Moore
    Ezzard Charles?

That's only fighters who fought at similar weight range. I don't want to mention lower weight classes greats.
