Duran and Leonard are better fighters than Loma and Rigo. And they didn't wait until they were 37 to fight.

Talent and skills wise yes. But this fight will go to prove how much of a different level Loma is on.
The weight difference is going to tell as well as the talent difference and the age difference.
This fight will not be competitive. Loma is going to beat rigo down and ko him.

Yes, it's the biggest on paper only, because nobody talk about it on the news, promotional material is a major let down and even Internet forum is rather quiet lol.

Joking aside, I disagree with Jones. It doesn't come close to some of the big fights in the past such as Ali Frazier, SRL Duran, SRL Hearns, Whitaker Chavez, Tito Oscar, Sanchez Gomez, to name a few.

Hes right. On paper both are two time gold medalist and both are world champions levels above their competition. On paper they are unrivaled by any match listed in this thread so far.

If they were both the same age then definitely. Rigo's 37,on paper it is a "blemish" to the overall formula.

Considering their AM pedigree and their p4p ranking it’s quite the fight on paper. They are also both champions so that adds to the match up. However they both only have a handful of pro fights. Less than 30 between them.

Unfortunately that never came to fruition at the peak of their careers. That is without a doubt the best fight on paper in the history of the sport. Both Manny and PAC were viewed as the 2 best p4p fighters in the sport...both were ranked #1 which has never happened before. Both were multi division world champs...both were the two most popular boxers in the world and both were in the same weight class. A HUGE miss for the sport.

I believe that Duran and Leonard are better fighters than either Mayweather or Pacquiao. Especially Roberto Duran who was operating at an almost unfathomable skill level. This is a guy who came up from Featherweight to punch Leonard's teeth in. Guy gave up like 8 inches of reach and a lot of size and still pounded Leonard all over the ring. He even moved up to 160 and fought a prime Hagler and still made it a completive fight.

I think we should all calm down a little here though.

I totally agree....I’m just talking about how fights look on paper. The way the 2009 Mayweather/PAC fight lined up was absolutely perfect based on how they both were viewed by the world as the two best p4p boxers in the world. Not that one was P4P#1 and the other P4P#2....both were viewed as P4P#1 and both had eclipsed DLH as the only boxer consistently generating over 1M in PPV buys domestically.

Duran/Leonard I was absolutely a better fight based on their boxing skills, mentality and willingness to face each other in their primes....but strictly on paper...Floyd and Manny back in 2009 May have been the biggest and most meaningful fight ever to NOT come off

Ok I see what you're saying. I didn't consider that other stuff. I just viewed it from a strictly boxing skills/talent question.

On paper, skills, but I expect Lomachenko to knock Rigo "Turtle Head" out!
