And that's RJJ's take...on relevance. Next up, he'll talk about the perils of fighting past one's prime.

    And Pacquiao doesn't need Mayweather...

Pacquiao Marquez is just pointless now.

I have it 1 win Pac, 1 draw and 1 win Marquez

It'd just be another underdog HOF'er on Floyd's resume.

In my opinion he doesn't. Nor does Pacquiao need Mayweather. Just because some fans want to see it doesn't mean it has to happen. Both guys are hall of famers with or without the fight.

They both need each other to cement themselves as alltime greats, yes they are both hall of famers but the game needs to have the best fighting the best, neither can clain true greatness without them fighting each other.

but that greatness is tainted if they don't make the most meaningful fight of this era

Was the most meaningful fight 2 years ago, not anymore

Now the only reason people still want to watch it is because of the energy they invested into it before, for old times sake kind of thing.

Pac would be heavy underdog, just like Cotto is now

But if Floyd struggles against Cotto, that probably will change

yep. agree with all of that.

just goes to show how the sport can suffer when the 'titles' offered by disjointed federations mean nothing to fighters who become bigger than any strap, and then decide they dont feel like fighting each other.

For the sake of boxing they should fight each other and stop ****ing around, I honestly think Manny is scared of FM.

    ALI - FRAZIER

    ALI- FOREMAN

    LEONARD - HEARNS, DURAN, HAGLER

These types of fights bestow legendary status on fighters, winners and losers.

They have to get it on. :deal

they should have too...but fighters nowadays can continue making mega-bucks while writing their own scripts.

that isn't going to change until boxing has one federation...which isn't likely to happen.

True, if there was only the WBC belt they would have been forced to fight each other already, as they wouldn't have been able to hide behind other belts and catchweights ect...

Although there is no guarantee that either would have been able to rise through the weights so effectively
