I think Eubank was a bigger puncher than Jones, actually. Lacy was too. Reid probably as well.

How the hell has this utter shite got to 12 pages? Anyone even debating this is a ****ing '****. Jones was on another level entirely.

Based on trouncing no-hopers like Bernard Hopkins, p4p#2 James Toney, Virgil Hill, and Montell Griffin on a run to 49-1 with the one defeat being a DQ and becoming universally recognized as the p4p#1?

Jones's resume is better than Calzaghe's, his ability was much better than Calzaghe's, his achievements are much better than Calzaghe's (4 weight champ to 2 weight champ, first man in 100+ years to win title at mw and hw compared to a 9-year WBO reign fighting nobodies at the Cardiff Ice Rink) and you are a ****ing embarrassment to this forum.

It is hilarious. Especially when their fighter refused to fight anyone so the network he fought on (HBO) started calling him reluctant Roy.:rofl:patsch

Neither of whom fight anything like Calzaghe. Is this “styles make fights” concept so hard to understand?

Accomplishments don’t win fights. Is Jones the more accomplished fighter? Yes – never said otherwise. Would he win without a shadow of a doubt? Go **** yourself – of course he wouldn’t. Joe had very real stylistic tendencies that would make him a nightmare for Roy to fight – at any stage in his prime.

Sweetheart, common knowledge is no knowledge at all. We all saw what happened when Jones faced a prime LHW with quick hands and decent power. He won a debateable MD then got knocked out cold.

Let me guess: Roy was weight-drained. Boo-hoo and bull****.

****ing ignorant Roy-Boys who rely on BoxRec for their history lessons.

    Dog****.

Jones was a stylistic nightmare for Calzaghe, not the other way around.

Calzaghe was reliant on handspeed and workrate. What would he do against someone who was much faster than him? Jones would land on Joe, and be gone before he could return fire. Jones was faster around the ring, faster hands, and his punch accuracy and power were on another level.

I doubt you've even seen Jones fight in his peak years 93-98, your posts are ****.

When Roy Jones left SMW he had a record of 32-0 28 kos. That is a higher KO percentage than all of the fighters you mentioned. Reid? Lets ask Thulani Malinga who hit harder Roy Jones or Robin Reid?:patsch

Sorry, did someone on this thread say that Eubank, Lacy and Reid were more powerful than Roy Jones?

    Seriously?

That is probably the worst comment I have ever heard. Surely saying something so appallingly ******ed is worthy of a ban?

Then Jones that beat Griffin in the rematch was the best trained, determined, skillful and talented BEAST that I've ever seen enter a boxing ring. I would not pick anybody P4P H2H over him. I see a 1st round stoppage. This shot version of Jones dropped Calzaghe early, that version of him would take his head off....and IF Calzaghe got back up, the punishment would be even worse

simple....RJJ REFLEXES WERE NOTHING IN COMPARISON TO WHAT THEY WERE IN 97...THATS THE END OF IT AS FAR AS UR FACT GOES...THE RJJ THAT FOUGHT JOE WOULDA BEEN KNOCKED BY THE RJJ OF 97..HE WOULDNT HAVE LASTED MORE THAN 10 ROUNDS...
