Call this an excuse or whatever but... I firmly believe Jones used HGH or steriods to beef up for the Ruiz fight and was probably juicing even before that. Not a commendable thing but to drop over 20 pounds of muscle then fight Tarver then Johnsen real quick was ill-advised. His body didn't even look near the same for those fights. I think now that his body has recovered from that transition, he can go back to being somewhat of his old self.
I believe in Roy's case, it's more of mental degradation than a physical one. Yes, his legs are certainly not what they used to be, nor is his stamina even close to the likes of what you saw against Toney , Hopkins, or even later down the road against Richard Hall. However, it's more that he's lost that mental edge of invincibility -- he truly believed he was mr unstoppable for a long time. Oh he still talks the talk, but he's so gunshy and cautious now to throw anything with mustard it's painfully obvious. During his heyday roy jones wasn't afraid to let it go with a prime james toney standing in front of him. That ain't the case any more sadly. And for what it's worth, all this talk of roy having a glass jaw is foolish. The man took plenty of hard leather from guys like ruiz, toney, maccallum, hill, griffin, etc.
where the hell did all this tyson talk come from? Do you understand the subject of this thread? This thread = no Iron Mike. atsch
Tarver wobbled him in the 3rd fight and he got through it. If Jones can get motivated and revamp his style to fit his current skill level, he can still fight with the best. Maybe not be as flashy or invincible but still be very competitive.
your making out rjj is god yes i do understand the thread but he isnt god is he so get out his arse the thread is the end is here unfortunatly the end was a long time ago
