IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green has commented that his bout with Roy Jones Jr is the biggest fight in Australia’s boxing history. It is rumored that Green could earn up to $4,000,000, and quite possibly more, due to a number of contributing factors, including: the fight being beamed into 15 countries, including the US, Canada, England, Malaysia and South Africa. Just 5000 tickets remain for the bout at Homebush, with an 18,000 sell-out guaranteed. Overwhelming demand for ringside seats has allowed ticket holders to auction seats on eBay for up to $1250. Jones Jr arrived in Sydney Sunday and will receive a guaranteed $3,000,000. It’s believed that under the terms of the contract the two fighters will split everything down the middle, including, sponsorship, gate-takings, pubs and clubs subscription and home pay-per-view.

I think a comparable fight would be Roy vs Gonzalez. However, Roy was more mobile with younger legs in that fight.

I think Green is physically as strong or perhaps slightly stronger than Gonzalez but he will need to cut off the ring better and not be afraid to take a few to land one. I still see a slightly difficult decision win for RJ but anything can happen in boxing.

I sniff an upset in this fight. Green is very big and strong. Trains hard. Solid chin. Awesome power and he has a great jab!
Add to that 18,000 aussies in attendance.

Where is the 3 million dollars come from.

I had a talk with one of those who had an inside knowledge of that fight and the figure he gave me was more than 1 million dollars plus perks liek hotel, entourage expenses, ects.

It is a pity that RJJ, who probably would not even fight for 5 milion before, would boil down to this. He might end up being a gatekeeper if he does not retire, someone where upcoming fighter would like to test how they are at elite level.

Roy better make sure whoever's guaranteeing his 3 Mil isn't saying, "I'd rather owe it to you than not pay you" Is that 3 Mil in dollars or yen?
