I doubt he'll ever reach gatekeeper status, and iirc, his highest purses were Calzaghe($7.5 mil) and Trindad($5 mil). Its not like $3 million is an absurdly small amount by his standards, and certainly more than his last fight.

Not to mention how much he should also make against Hopkins in March 2010 if he gets passed Green...

Yeah, everyone is commenting on this without actually confirming what kind of dollars are being talked. My presumption would be that this is australian dollars.

I think Jones will take the decision easliy in this fight. I dont see Green getting knocked out though. I'm doubtful that that kind of money will be made.

Also Australian dollars arent much less than US dollars at the moment. 90c to the dollar I think.

Not a lot between AUD and USD at the minute to be fair.

I'm going to the fight, very much looking forward to it. For my mind its going to be RJJ v Lacy 2 at this stage.

yeah, it seems like it's australian dollars, I read so in the article. Still a pretty good payday for such a fight, if you ask me.

Haven't seen much of Green, so I don't know what to think of the fight, just think that Roy is still a pretty good fighter, despite all the bashing from the public.

Just a doubt, they say there are 5 thousand tickets still available, but a guaranteed 18 thousand audience for the fight, does that mean the place they are fighting at hold 23 thousand people?

Ill be watching...Roy should be favorite and has a lot of advantages here..But a lot of things sway in Danny's favor aswell.

A lot of people seem to be fooled by the Lacy fight...Roy isnt all of a sudden back to anything resembling his old self..and Danny is a different fighter to Jeff anyways.

The fight might not be one of the ages but it still intrigues me.

Nah 18 000 will be capacity for this event.

I think just based on past events they expect the rest of the tickets to be sold by fight time next week.
Its certainly not "guaranteed"...just if they say it is a week out then people might rush to get a ticket just in case.

$3M Australian is $2.7M U.S. Still a pretty good pay day.

Danny Green at his best was a very, very good fighter.

In his fight with Sullivan he had a physical meltdown due to fighting with a virus. Won the fight easily but began to apologise to the crowd in his speech for losing! He was totally delirious. Went to hospital for several days. Never been the same since.

It's nice to see him looking healthier at the higher weight. But he just aint the same fighter by any stretch.

This fight with RJJ is about who has faded more. Even though Danny was very good in his prime, RJJ was legendary and would have smoked him with ease. I predict RJJ will have no problems at all.

Its hard to tell with Danny... I hear his fans talk about that Sullivan debacle and say he was never the same..I dont know about that, I think he just faced better fighters and ended up showing his limitations.

Its very likely he just got the jump on Beyer in their first fight...He was very inexperienced and was brought in because of this. The rematch he looked confused and Marcus looked more prepared.

His win over Lucas was very impressive...Eric was one tough mofo and to force him to quit is just brutal.
That being said Eric was definitely injured...and by the time Danny got on top was a sitting duck.

Choc was a bad style for him and in the end to good.

Anyways...the sleeper on that card is going to be Levini-Waters IMO..Should be a war and I wouldnt be surprised with the Titan causing an upset...Should have made that one over 8 IMO.
