Toney would not beat Wlad. He might beat Vitali though.
Vitali had trouble with Kingpin and Byrd.Stylewise they are closest to Toney :deal

Well Johnson just turned up to survive. It's not a dancing match. How you perceived Vitali to look means **** all. Fact is he took 5 power punches all night and won every round.

    That fight was a snoozer.

I've never seen KJ hurt by anyone.

Still, it is reasonable to assume that Vitali would have trouble against Toney based on this peformances with Kingpin and byrd. Stylisticall, they were the closest to Toney.

Only thing is, when on his game, James is much more of a threat offensively than either Byrd or Johnson.

Total punches thrown on Kingpin-1000. Total landed-200:rofl

KJ came out of the fight lookin the same way he went into it , while Vitali was all marked up and bruised.
Vitali could barely land a clean shot on a non moving target , hitting the top of his dome accounted for most of the shots landed.
Never even came remotley close to dropping him.
    Chisora floored Kingpin ffs:patsch

The more i think about it , the more i believe Toney would of clowned Vitali the same way Chris Byrd did.

Toney of the Holyfield fight was no joke. Boxing is a science and Toney had more ring ip than either of the robots.

I agree that stylistically Toney is a bad match up for Vitali.

Would have been a good comeptitive fight.

WLad on the other hand would outpoint James

Toney is basically the same height as Evander & Haye, and we saw what they were was able to do with Valuea and Vlad.
The Klits are shorter but with the same skill level as Valuea. :yep

    LOLLOL!!!

The Klist have been taking Roids since they were teens and they have confessed to as much. Being Russian, they definitely had freer and wider access to Steroids than Toney.:yep

Kevin Johnson is listed at 6'3" and had a near equal reach to Vitali. He had the length to touch Vitali with his jab at range.

Toney at 5'10" with a middleweight reach won't be able to get his counters or jab off unless he can make Vitali over commit, which is doubtful as he didn't pressure. Toney had huge problems with Rahman's jab and was lucky to get a draw.

Even the very best HW Toney is at a serious syltistic and physical disadvantage against Vitali. He'll make Vitali miss but its doubtful he forces an injury like Byrd did. Byrd had a special gift for making guys throw out their shoulders, he injured Evander as well. Byrd was far more active and mobile than HW Toney.

My money would be on an ugly Vitali decision. He throws a ton of punches, lands a few, Toney doesn't get much off in return.

Wlad would likely KO Toney, Wlad's speed, size, feinting, and parrying is a nightmare for guys waiting to counter him.

James Toney can lead or counter. He did a lot of leading against Holyfield, Booker or Ruiz.

Overall, Toney is much more skilled at forcing the pace than Kingpin or Byrd. Add to that his effective body punching.
