    Jones Jr.

Eye-test tells me that Jones Jr had a higher peak than Golovkin in the pros. Of course, in a boxing match anything can happen and Golovkin does have the power to shock, but my money's on Jones Jr. He's one of the few I have to pick against Golovkin.

RJJ's contemporaries also realized how good he was at his best, e.g. Calzaghe: "I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it." When they finally fought Calzaghe reassured his son that Jones wasn't that good anymore.

I think Michel Nunn is a more realistic question for Golovkin than RJJ. That's a step too far to bother discussing, imo.

Gotta go with a Jones UD where he might have to survive a knockdown

Think GGG outworks Toney and can handle his power for the UD

I don't think Golovkin would lay a glove on a prime Nunn.

Though Jones was quicker, Nunn's ring IQ is eons above that of Jones.
    I'd pick Nunn over Jones.

I would've liked Jones Jr to fight Micalczewski who fought similar to Golovkin but more like Kosta Tzyu.

I think it could go either way but i think Jones being quicker to the punch would be the deciding factor. He'd make Golovkin miss and pay. I do think he'd get caught eventually and Golovkin's high pressure and the way he cuts the ring off would give Jones a lot of trouble.

Not sure ,but it would have been a great fight , unlike the canelo effort.

Maybe, but I think Golovkin has a pretty good chance, personally, against Nunn and that it'd be a classic styles match. I think Jones puts Nunn away. Jones knew what he needed to use his unusual gifts at the highest level. It's kind of interesting that Toney at the time he stopped Nunn was talked about like a very basic fighter who didn't have a high ring IQ.

Don't disrespect Tszyu like that. Tszyu would have never got his face re-arranged by a Richard Hall type, like Michaelzewski did.

hard to tell, i dont think i saw either one rolled hard in their prime, they were too far above the guys they did fight, at the time that they fought them. if all my money was riding on it, i would go with roy.
