Its a fact he ducked eubank..even his old trainer admitted it.
On the korean bloke...Jones was heard saying.."i don't want a rematch, si-hun is to fast and too strong..every time i hit him he hits me with 5 hard accurate counters"

Didn't Roy get the best boxer award for the Olympics? Now THAT is robbed when you lose in the final and the judges all agree you were the best one there.

You cannot find a single 10-second clip from that fight that RJJ lost, much less a minute or an entire round.

No doubt about it Jones jr was robbed in Seoul. It was Blatant
But man did he cash in on it after turning pro. He refused to fight anywhere but the US. He also ducked & dived to avoid his dangerous opponents. He became known as Cherry Picker Jones. Any sympathy fans had for his being robbed in Seoul was lost during his pro career

I knew he was a cherry picker when he fought an undefeated James Toney and Bernard Hopkins. He is a coward. Should've been fighting Joe "Who gives a ****" Zaggers in a school gym in wales IMO

He didn't need to fight anyway but the U.S. when he was on top.

It's also a common misconception that he tried to avoid dangerous opponents. His cherry picking tag was unfair, and his resume is actually quite strong when analysed objectively.

No one remembers Jerry Page beating Kim Dong-Kil in 1984...funny that

In 1984 USA won 37 or 38 decision bouts their fighters were involved including Henry Tillman over Angelo Musone (a decision that was even booed by the American crowd) and the aforementioned Page/Kim result.

And of course even the Americans robbed the American, just ask Holyfield

Jones jr , just like Mayweather, always had an excuse for ducking opponents. A REAL champion & ATG takes on all comers. A wannabe cherry picks opponents & ensures he has every advantageevery time he does fight. Like only fighting at home where the officiating is biased etc just to be sure.

What advantage did he have fighting at home exactly? Can you tell me who Jones robbed?

Yeah, it's easy to say that though.

Certain fights were hard to make. There was lots of circumstances and politics involved. You make it sound so straight forward.

Roy never had to leave America. He fought on HBO, he was the best fighter in the world, and the majority of the best fighters from his own weight class and the surrounding weight classes, were based in America.

Everything was set up for him there.

Roy had a pretty sweet HBO deal that allowed him to pretty much stay where he was, he was making good money, he was known as the best, you had to come to his terms.. In such a business, where providing for his family was important, who can really blame him? Why would he go and risk all that security? Especially after what had happened in 88..

I always feel that it hurt the opponents more for missing Roy Jones, than it hurt him for missing them.. Don't hate the player, hate the game!!

It was bad, although nobody ever talks about the equally bad gift Si-Hun got over Vincenzo Nardiello in the same Olympics...which is a bit unfair as it was every bit as bad. Of course Roy became a much bigger star in the pros than Vincenzo, but the Italian wasn't bad (he was briefly a world titlist, and 4x challenger) and fully deserves a mention when the '88 Games come up right alongside RJJ as wronged parties.

It was actually one of the most dominant fights I've seen in a gold medal fight. It's just too bad the guy that was dominating lost  :-(
