Say RJJ convincinly beats Tito. Don't you guys think this would be a good matchup?

While Dawson is a busy LHW, he doesn't have the power to really KO anyone with one shot at this weight. Let's not forget he was a MW just a few years ago.

Wouldn't it be fun to just see these two guys with exceptional hand speed go at it?

    What do you think?

Jones will NEVER fight Dawson! Chad would embarass him.

That's why Jones is fighting Trinidad to begin with!

And i agree somewhat but there is the slight chance that RJJ might be getting his swagger back. I don't think he's ever lost a lot of his raw talents as he still has blazing hand speed. I can admit his reflexes have gone and that prevents him from getting out of the way of punches. But overall, he still has the talent to do good things. His problem was in his head. He was just afraid and timid and you can't do that as a boxer. And i'm saying that if he has corrected this mental flaw, he still might be able to do some good things. Maybe not beat Dawsom but definitely put up a good showing. Dawson isn't a big LHW. His chin is still questionable at this weight.

Chad Dawson seems to be the real throw back fighter. Not a serious **** talker and fights constently, and wants to fight the best. The real test is Bernard against Chad. That would be nice to see.

I think that Dawson will be too much for Roy.

Chad Dawson would be too much for Jones right now. I would be interested to see how Jones would fight him and if could match him in terms of speed, but he wouldn't win. Chad is too busy for Roy and he would likely win a wide decision or probably a mid to late round technical knockout.

Yeah, i see the points about Dawson just being too young and active for RJJ. I just think it would be fun IF, and i know this is a huge IF, RJJ gets that swagger back and actually comes into this fight fully confident and willing to commit. I mean this guy still has blazing hand speed. He can tough Dawson if and when he decides to throw.

I know that is a huge if. I hope he is getting his swagger back. He's had 2 decision wins since his last fight with Tarver 3. If he dominates Tito, who knows. He might think it's 2000 again :)

Chad would have gave Roy a good fight in his prime, now Chad beats him pretty soundly in my opinion.

I think RJJ would KO Dawson in his prime. Dawson has good hand speed but it's not in the same ball park at RJJ in his prime along with his incredible reflexes. RJJ was just unbeatable during his prime. They say he fought nobody but who did he really dodge? He just made them look like nobody.

ROy vs Chad, I wouldnt advise 4 RJ. Not now, if it were his prime RJ would dismatnle him but now im not 2 sure. But if it ever happens im going 4 the underdog which will probably b RJ. Really not a sensible pick on my part, but he is my favorite fighter and I got 2 rock with him.
But the most logical pick woud b 2 pick Dawson

Nah...not yet. He has more to learn. In his prime, his length gives Jones some issues for 3-4 rounds, then gets beaten soundly and probably stopped. He is not prime yet IMO.

Sure there is a great possibility that Roy does KO Dawson prime for prime but I don't recall Roy fighting a boxer of Chad's athletisim, speed and craft while a light heavy weight. Talent wise Roy edges Chad but not by much, sure Chads chin is not the best but he recovers well and is willing to mix it up toe to toe more often than Roy did in his elusive hay day. But your opinion is valid young skywalker.

I agree Roy has the percentages on his side but young Chad seems to have those underrated qaulities that some fighters possess that allows them to be a constant threat in the ring.

Once Roy feels a bit of hard leather he tends to go into a shell and become less productive, Chad gets hit and hurt and he turns it up a notch sort of like Cotto. Add this quality with his talent and you have a stiff assignment for Roy.
