Roy was too gifted in his prime. Ward makes a fight out of it though. could see it turning out like the first Bhop fight.

 

Roy at his peak was unbeatable....or as close as humanly possible to being so.

That's because he never faced anyone worth a **** at SMW. Ward is not bryant brannon or eric lucas, he's a legit fighter not a tomato can.

 

Ward has sufficiently impressed me that I'm willing to grant that he at least goes the distance with prime Roy. Loses cleanly, but goes the distance.

I still remember the day when a young Ward carried Roy's belts into the ring. How things change. Staying undefeated from 1989 - 2003 must have taken a toll on Roy; not only that but achieving a feat which wasn't attempted in then 106 years. Also, moving down to recapture the LHW titles once more was huge feat in boxing history.
