Both are good but Tarver takes this one. Its funny and ironic that these two are commentating on rival networks,

    take your pick

    Both are good

Roy sounds like a rapper when commentating

Antonio Tarver sounds like a College Graduate

If you want ghetto hood type of talk then Roy is the man

If you want fluent proper english talk then Tarver is the man

Tarver's very good but Roy's analysis of the fight are always spot on. He sees alot more details than most. He's even called shots before they even land. For die hard boxing fans Roy takes it

tarver- bigger vocabulary and speaks more clearly than jones, but stutters and stumbles over his words at times...he is getting better

jones- fast speaker, and because of this he keeps up with the action better than tarver...he has a southern drawl so may be hard for some to understand

Roy. I remember in the Ike Quartey-Verno Philips fight Ike had piled up a huge points lead and Merchant and Lamps were singing his praises, but half way through the ninth Roy said "quartey's leaving his left too low, he's gonna get caught," and maybe twenty seconds later Philips loops a left and drops Quartey on his ass.

In terms of anticipating the action in a fight Roy is in a class on his own. That being said Tarver is a little more enjoyable to listen too.
