Roy jones vs Antonio Tarver: at commentating, who wins?

Roy Jones.

I cant stand Tarver but he's a good addition to Showtime

 

Easily Roy Jones. He's spot on when he talks what a fighter is going to do. Sometimes Tarver studder but he's doing a good job on showtime.

 

Roy Jones becuase he is great at anticipating whats gonna happen...this however is not a knock on Tarver who I think is a better announcer than everyone at HBO not named Roy Jones.

 

Jones is a greater fighter and gives greater insight. He has been there and done is all.

 

Tarver a more cerebral approach when he analyzes a fight and RJ is more from the heart and gut. Both are right on the spot with the answers and couldn't be answered any better by anyone else.

 

It's tough to say. I like listening to both of them quite a bit. That said, Tarver and Bernstein have far better chemistry than Roy and HBO's crew (the HBO crew is stagnant and getting worse).

 

I like both of them...

 

roy knows whats going on more so then tarver its like roy is in the ring

tarver you can tell ur listening to a guy thats just talking about the fight

Tarver is doing very well but RJJ is in a class of his own as a color commentator just like he was in his prime as a boxer.

 

In terms of the quality of what they actually say, I wouldn't pick between them. They both sound like they're doing a TED presentation compared to Lennox and George but Tarver seems to get more time to talk or at least he's been more vocal.

 

Tarver shatters Roy's glass eardrums etc.

Seriously I can't pick between the two, I'd like both to keep representing their respective channels for the near future.

 

Tarver. Did anyone notice how biased Jones was towards Peterson in the Ortiz fight?

Both are cool. Hope they stay for a long time.
