I honestly see this as a VERY close fight.

Jones-Calzaghe fight (through the first 7 rounds) was VERRRY competitive. Roy looked pretty good to be honest until the cut came.

Dawson would be a slight favorite, prolly -150 on the sportsbooks IMO.

    Thoughts?

The Jones/Calzaghe fight was not close through 7 rounds. Jones was actually losing before scoring the KD. Jones may have won round 2 as well, but that's it. It was pretty clear how the fight was going to go by the 7th round.

On to Jones vs. Dawson. Dawson wins this one. If Tito can back Roy up and win 4 rounds, I don't see him beating Dawson. Roy may win 3 or 4 rounds, but I don't see him winning the fight.

Ref stoppage....Chad blazes him with a flury of punches that leaves jones out on his feet.

I dont see it being much different then the Calzaghe fight. Dawson is a lighting fast southpaw and throws lots of combos round after round he would just slap Roy around at this point. Roy might get a KD in this one to but he doesnt have it in him to finish anyone at this point whether its the lack of stamina or the lack of killer instinct or worried about getting KOed in return possibly all 3.

It would look like Dawson - Tarver except worse due to Jones going into his shell. Possibly a TKO stoppage.

    No bro. It really wasn't.

Most media observers gave Roy round 2 and/or round 5.

Round 6 was VERY CLOSE. That's where Roy nailed joe with a vicious uppercut. Joe was more active rest of round their so u ahd to give it to him.

Round 7 was close outside of the cut. Because of the cut inflicted, had to give it to calzaghe.

Round 8 Roy won the first 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Roy faired MUUUCH better against the #1 p4p fighter in the world than people are giving him credit for IMO.

If he was motivated for a dawson fight the way he was for this fight, I think it could go either way.

Every judge gave Jones 1 round. His face was covered in blood and his fists had seemingly little effect on Calzaghe. That fight was not competitive.

    Did Roy lose the fight?

Yes. Without a doubt. No question.

Does Roy have an argument for winning rounds 1,2, and 5?

Yes. Without a doubt. No question.

Were rounds 6 and 7 close rounds?

Yes. Without a doubt. No question.

    Roy is done?

He was hanging in there with your boy for 7 rounds pretty good until the cut.

The judges scores for this fight are terrrrrrribly misleading.
