anything could have happend...if montel griffin gave jones trouble for most of fight 1, then who knows with dariuz....an undefeated guy will always fight harder and step up when its his "O" thats on the line.
and i do remember seeing the tshirts....i have almost all dariuz fights in my collection :good

It's pointless to speculate how well Jones would have done against the top fighters of that time because he chose not to fight them!

Yep. Golota said once that he tried to use his connections to get Dariusz a fight with RJJ in Germany or Poland but the main obstacle was... Michalczewski himself.

Hide was never lineal champion, neither you can make a case of him being number2 in HW, so it is a bit different.

Still, I agree it is difficult to say RJJ was ducking someone who seemed equally reluctant to fight him.

Dariusz Michalczewsk was the man he was the champion before jones fought at the weight

roy jones won the vacant wbc title vacanted by Fabrice Tiozzo.
Fabrice Tiozzo lost his wba title to Virgil Hill then came back and beat Mike McCallum for the WBC light heavyweight title.

Dariusz Michalczewski beat Virgil Hill for the undisputed light heavyweight championship, Michalczewski had the wba, wbo, ibf titles and had a incredible 48 and 0 winning run

Dariusz Michalczewski was always calling jones jr out you never heard jones say i want to fight Dariusz Michalczewski did you?......:huh

Dariusz Michalczewski is the best light heavyweight in history he holds the record for the most consecutive successful title defenses at light heavyweight 23 defenses. He was champ for 9 years

jones jr use to call him D.M..aka Dangerous Man:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The only thing that Roy as to regret is the fact that he's still fighting.

He had definitely worse resume, but calling it "**** resume" is an overstatement, especially as we are comparing their LHW achievements (so Toney and Hopkins do not count).

BTW, I do not see a point of mentioning Tarver in RJJ resume - he was past prime and needed judges help to win one fight of the trilogy. That way you should include for example Gonzalez in DM list as well.

Dm was not lineal. It's a myth. By the time maske and hill fought jones was already in the division and was already a titlist holding victories over two top 5 opponents whilst being number 1 p4p.

The confusion is because the rankings hadn't been updated by the time hill fought maske but no way were they the top two in the division.

Infact upon tracing back the lineage broken by spinks did not get joined again up until jones beat tarver.

There are only 3 fighters i'd have expected jones to face who he didn't would be jackson, benn and dm... Anything at heavyweight is amazing and beyond expectations so i'll settle for a top 5 victory.

In their primes I would have picked RJJ. However, like most people I never thought that Tarver would be able to do anything with RJJ. Of course in boxing it is all about timing. Tarver caught Roy at the right time, same is true of DM's loss to Gonzalez. If DM caught RJJ at the right time he MAY have won, but that is far from a guarantee.
