you mean you weren't being literal when you wrote that?? i was trying to point out how stupid it is to think it'd be so easy for shavers but i obviously failed. i pick shavers in the matchup too but i don't totally rule out jones seeing how incredibly talented he was. you obviously don't think much of jones like a lot of the other inane posters on the classic board.
but why would he mix it up? i have to bring up willie pep who selectively boxed and mixed it up with sandy saddler. from what i've read about their second fight the same strategy could work for jones if done right. keep it mind: jones was just as naturally skilled as pep and shavers was nowhere near the p4p fighter saddler was. it's POSSIBLE people
You're just not smart enough to take in hyperbole..oh let me break that one down for you..that means "poetic license"..No junior, I really wasn't implying that a missed punch would have ko'ed Jones, I was just taking refuge in exaggeration a bit to get the message across that Shavers had so much reknowned power...power to stun and stagger Ali, deck Holmes, ko Ellis, and make people swear that he hit harder than George Foreman even, that he had therefore..more than enough power to ko a fragile chinned ex-middleweight who's been ko'ed by Tarver, Johnson and Green...all of them decidedly inferior in power to the much bigger, more massive natural heavyweight Shavers. Try not to show your ignorance so much, or at least go back to the General Forum, where it won't be noticed quite as much.:hi:
all those KOs were to a post-heavyweight jones. thanks for pointing out that tarver, johnson and green don't hit as hard as shavers. you're an effing boxing genius!
You obviously don't have the ability to comprehend what I'm saying...you just want to be contentious for the sake of being contentious. Go ahead stupid...figure it your way...Shavers would tag Jones and SuperRoy would just shrug it off and ko Earnie with one shot..or outbox him like he did Ruiz. Now just **** off and pester somebody else.
how could you possibly think that jones would ko shavers with one shot?? or outbox him like ruiz?? j/k if you look at my earlier posts, i favored shavers in the matchup but as usual in the classic section any mention of jones being a good fighter gets met with quotes like what's above.
Jones would do well for as long as he could continue to stick and move. Once he got hit with one of those right hand bombs ( and eventually he would) he'd be counting sheep.
I generally find Shavers to be overrated as a whole, but it's more likely than not he knocks Jones out IMO.
