Patterson is my favorite fighter of all time, but Roy is just too fast and too slick. His outside fighting skills and power would carry the day for him against Floyd. Would be a great fight, but I don't see Floyd pulling it off. (Would love to see it happen, though)
I dont know, I see floyd slowly backing Roy up, and using his deadly hand speed to get through to Roy's fragile chin, but then again Floyd had a fragile chin as well.
:nono Floyd's chin was not fragile at all. His balance with his leaping left hooks was the reason for his knock downs. He only got KOed by Liston and Johansson.
I have to say that I don't believe Floyd or Roy had "fragile chins", and I find it an aggravating commonplace assertion. :conf
Floyd gets off balance a lot and Roy destroyed come forward fighters like Patterson in his prime. If we're talking 160 Patterson vs. 160 Roy, I may have to go with Floyd, but Patterson fought in a different style as a Light Heavyweight and a Heavyweight.
As do I. Some people like to try to pretend that Roy was never hit flush on the chin until 50+ fights into his pro career. The truth is that his chin held up just fine before Tarver nailed him with a perfect left hook that he never saw coming which would have knocked just about anybody the **** out, and ever since then he's been nothing more than a shell of his former self.
