i was watching footage of that 1988 olympic final. yeeesh still cant believe what a robbery that was. straight up bs.
Roy Jones has talent to burn. He's the closest thing I've ever seen to a genuinely unbeatable fighter.
its funny cause growing up I used to be enamored by Jones. Now that im older I can appreciate his efforts even further. he def was the most dominant in the 90's. he not only beat you but he looked smooth as can during the process. Sucks he kinda overstayed his welcome.
There's people who think he avoided Tarver before he went up to heavyweight while the fact is, Tarver lost to Eric Harding by unamious decision and after that Eric Harding lost by TKO against Jones. He's definetely unbeatable through out the 90's, by the time he suffered his first lost he's 35!
I love watching older Roy Jones Jr. fights. So much speed and talent with little effort to do it all.
best fighter ever in his prime is correct.that man in his prime i would put against anyone and favor him.**** a chin, my ***** was not geting hit at all in them days.and i bet he did have a chin in his 20's.
IMO one of ,if not the most naturally gifted fighter ever. RJJ in his prime was unbeatable. He would have smashed Benn, Eubank or any one else around at the time. I think Jones biggest fault was wanting things on his terms and wanting to hold all the cards but if you were Jones wouldn't you ?. You only have to watch the James Toney fight to see the level Jones was at in his prime. If Jones had retired after wining the heavy weight strap his legacy would have so much different.
When you see a young Jones at work, it makes you realize how truly shitty guys like Dirrell, Ward, Pascal, and Berto are by comparison. All 4 of those guys are Roy wannabe's.
