    I am an idiot.

But I still say Lewis would have brutally KOed Jones.

I think if there was any time for Jones to fight Lewis, it was after Ruiz. I´d say Roy would have had a very slim, but real chance, at least of doing well for himself for a few rounds.

Although a Jones victory would not have been impossible, I just see Lewis using his superior reach and power to shut Jones out and find him with the right hand within about 4 rounds. Lewis was not a plodding and unskilled giant. His jab and right were excellent and his uppercut devastating.

Actually I think Jones should have done all he could to fight Tyson after the Ruiz fight. Maybe not straight after, but eventually. Had Jones not gone down to lhw and weight drained himself, he could well have stood a chance of beating a deteriorated Tyson.

I actually think Tyson has deteriorated so much - he was horrible in the McBride fight and has probably gotten a lot worse - that Roy ought to be able to put on a few pounds and beat him now.

And YES Jones would have been GOAT in terms of boxing achievements had he beaten Lewis in a fair way (not a BS DQ or Lewis miraculously twisting his ankle and breaking it).

Ali, Jack Johnson and Joe Louis would still be greater historically though, which is another matter. They are all something of historic figures, which can´t necessarily be achieved through pure success in a sport.

Jones never gets hit with that uppercut. He gets stopped by a straight right or a hook. But he won't be close enough to get hit with that uppercut.
