Roy Jones is one more win away from fighting Huck. If he beats Willie Williams, the Huck fight is on. The question is can Jones beat Huck? If he does defeat Huck that would sets up potential big fights. Big superfights like...Jones vs Haye, Jones vs Wilder or even Jones vs Toney2! Well ESB, the question I ask to you is.. Does Jones have one last miracle left? Did the boxing world "forget" about Jones? Who wins?
I don't get it. Roy Jones isn't even ranked on the top anymore, how does he get to fight Huck? Huck must be an absolute coward if he's picking up on Roy at this point even though Jones is no mandatory. "can Jones beat Huck?" lol... I do hope that's not a serious question.
Well Huck isn't exactly Archie Moore or E. Charles. Jones might still have enough speed to outbox him. BTW..NO ONE said he earned a shot. If he gets a title shot its because he's still a name.
There are actually 2 with wins over Toney and Jones on their record. Montell Grffin and Denis Lebedev. I thought for the longest time Montell would be the only one, but the old geezers fought on long enough for someone else to do it.
To the thread topic, I think Roy needs to stay the hell away from Huck.. I am fine with him whipping up on the feather fisted club fighters for some cash, but Huck would KO him pretty badly, and would not support this fight.
Jones is no longer the elusive fighter he once was, he is a walking punching bag with fast hands and a bad chin, Huck would undoubtedly land a big shot at some point, probably early and put Roy to sleep. I hope he doesn't get one.
The best thing really that could happen to Jones is that he somehow loses to Williams, to prevent this Huck clash from happening. It would be too late now for Jones to delude himself into thinking he could rebuild from a loss to someone like Williams toward a meaningful fight.
