Nunn’s a tough assignment for anyone, Who wants to fight a tall, quick, athletic southpaw?

But Roy has too much speed and more power. It’s probably an ugly affair with Nunn fighting a very negative fight, trying to avoid exchanges and staying on his bicycle to kill time like a student staring at the clock on the last class of the last day of school counting off the seconds.

Roy Jr by UD in a dull affair but with the chance of him nailing Nunn and then swarming him to force a mid- to late-round stoppage.

I agree with your assessment but just to put a question to you, Jones did have a few issues vs Southpaws. Del Valle floored him, Harding gave him a good argument until the injury, and obviously the Tarver fights although to be fair Jones was past his prime, but i still think Tarver's style would cause him some issue.

Now you can say these were at Light Heavyweight which is true, but do you think the issues Jones had vs these Southpaws. Might have any standing on a fight vs Nunn ? i also don't think Nunn would fight that negative. The Nunn who fought Tate, Kalambay, Roldan, would stand his ground at times and mix it.

I would agree with you that Jones should be the favourite here, but Jones never met anyone who posed as much as stylistic nightmare as Nunn. And Nunn was pretty special for 2 or 3 years, and having height and reach advantage aswell as being Southpaw. I wouldn't put it past Nunn to maybe pull off the upset although i still favour Jones.

I think Nunn would give RJJ a lot more problems than the RJJ fanboy club thinks he would. He was a hard out for anybody, and his combination of speed skill and power would be challenging to overcome.

Nunn by UD or surprise K.O if he lands ala Kalambay.

I always thought Nunn could be a problem for Roy in size and speed and skills, and southpaw.. Roy would probably edge it,but Nunn has the style to give him trouble...

Liles also floored/beat him in 88 over three (another southpaw)

I struggle to see anyone beating the Nunn who faced Tate

    Huge trouble.

They’d have gone feint for feint.

A very boring fight I believe.

Definitely. Jones is not havin a clear cut, one sided victory over prime Nunn.

There is another important factor: Nunn had the better chin. Only stopped once in over 60 fights and that was a sunday punch.

This would be a close fight either way. I am going with Roy by narrow decision but not with confidence

Interesting thing is though Toney hit Roy with that same left hook flush and Roy just stared at him. Nunn was down
