There is a reason why Toney didnt want a rematch with Nunn and it because he was very lucky to win the 1st fight.

Nunn completely outclassed him the whole fight until that left hook in the 11th. He embarrassed Toney until Toney got Lucky.

Nunn was heavily avoided in his prime because he was a handful ,as good as a pure boxer you will ever see.

Pity he wasted his world class talent.

I would watch a prime Nunn before i would watch a prime Roy jones or Toney. To me he is a better skilled boxer and his style appeals to me more so than the other so called legends.

I agree Toney was quite lucky that night. Nunn simply abandoned his boxing and started trading with Toney in the later rounds and it cost him big. Nunn probably thought he could get the KO as he had been so dominant, thats the only reason I can think of as to why he started trading with Toney.

I have always rated prime Nunn, he had the right attributes to always give Jones trouble. Tall, rangy, fast southpaw who could actually box on equal terms with RJJ from range. RJJ would be forced to be the aggressor which wasn't his forte.

I also think Jones knew it would be a very difficult fight hence why he dumped his WBC title when Nunn became his mandatory to supposedly fight Buster Douglas, which of course never came to fruition after he was given advice from his suddenly not estranged father.

Personally I can't pick a winner, all I know is that it would have been a great fight.

Would have been a great fight, but I expect Jones to stop Nunn late.
