Jones by UD. But i wouldnt bet my house on it. If there is anyone who could beat Jones at 175 it is definatley Spinks.
He'd knock him out somewhere in the middle rounds or down the stretch I believe. Jones will look exceptional early on, Spinks liked to get a feel for his opponents before he stepped it up. He was like a Julio Cesar Chavez or a Joe Frazier, a supremely talented fighter that could conceivably lose rounds to sub-par opposition but it ends up being academic. Once Spinks lets his hands go, I just can't envision Jones going 12 without getting clipped. Consider this, Spinks was a 6'2 Light Heavy with a Heavyweight frame. He was a big guy, and he could knock fighters stone dead with either hand. Johnson had a great chin, had been in a lot of wars with the likes of Saad Muhammad, but all it took was a single left hand, not even Michael's best shot, to send him packing early. There's simply no dispute at all that Spinks had the one shot power to not only hurt Roy but render him unconscious. There was an unpredictably in Spinks' offense that made it almost impossible to defend against at times. He comes at every angle and throws in 4's and 5's at a time sometimes. He hooked and then came underneath with the uppercut, even Whitaker and Pep would have trouble evading that combination and it came off more times than not for Spinks. I think Jones will be doing well, he'll get clipped and either be out cold or he'll be hurt which will see him retreating for the rest of the fight...and on the basis, it's possible that he could lose on points too. At light heavyweight, Jones fought no one near the quality of Spinks. Eventually , Mike would get to Roy, especially if it was a 15 rounder. Spinks was a lot more durable than Jones , and would take Roy's shots a lot better than Roy would take Mike's.
watch the Virgil Hill fight before the fight was stopped and you will see the pattern of how the fight would play out. after spinks gets hit by a few good left hooks and pot shots he will be afraid to come in gun ho
one shot spinks lands and the over rated and hyped jones falls to pieces. jones could only beat dust bin workers or policemen
Spinks KO's Roy. Spinks was just too good. Went up to Heavyweight and beat THE Heavyweight Champion not some handpicked paper belt holder like Jones did.
Spinks stops Jones. With that kind of power and skill, he'll eventually land something that does serious damage.
Roys too fast too good. He'd win UD or late TKO...you cats under rate Roy so much based on the last few years. Clown asses.
