I feel Spinks would played with Ruiz and beaten all Jones opposition at light heavy except maybe Calzaghe or B-Hop, so how would Roy do against Michael`s light heavy opponents and how far would he get with the heavies that Spinks fought? Would he last less than 91 seconds v Tyson? lol!

I think that Spinks would have beaten all of Roy's LHW opponents whilst at his best.

I'd have given Roy a fair chance of beating Spinks' LHW opponents whilst at his best.

There's no way Roy could have beaten an 88 version of Tyson. I don't know how long he'd have lasted, but my guess is not long.

We have to remember that Spinks is significantly bigger than Roy. Roy started out at JMW and MW, whereas according to Mackie Shilstone, Spinks had to train down from around 200 pounds to make LHW. With great discipline, Roy could have spent the majority of his career at SMW.

The whole purpose of Roy Jones moving up gradually though the weights and winning a world title at HW, was to match Bob Fitzsimmons record set 120 years earlier. Winning world titles from MW to HW. He is stated on record many times referring to this goal.

It wasnt a case of him "filling out" or "blowing up in weight", as he was extremely disciplined and dedicated. It was a case of that being the goal he set himself, and the goal he achieved.

Roy's career best wins were at MW to SMW and in hindsight that is where he should have stayed for maximum legacy if he not had that dream. He also carried on after the John Ruiz fight which has proven to be a disaster for his legacy and will mean he is under rated in future.

Yes, he had the dream of fighting at HW from when he was young. He constantly toyed with the idea all throughout the 90's. But I think he'd have stayed at SMW for much longer had the fights have been there for him.

Roy would have beaten all of Spinks' opposition at 175. However, I would pick Spinks over Roy.

He was planning to fight Buster Douglas in the mid 90`s, but his dad called him up and told him it would be suicide, so he decided against it.

Hmmmm... I think I would favor Qawi over RJJ at 175. I think Marvin Johnson would be a stiff test at 175. I think Yaqi and Eddie Gregory although not in peak form would have a good shot at Jones. I am not sure he would make it through without a loss.

Stylewise I actually think Eddie MM would be more dangerous for Roy than Qawi, because Eddie was a very tricky and skilled counterpuncher and he had legit one punch power in his right hand.

Roy definitely beats Marvin Johnson and Yauqi Lopez. Those two were a bit too limited and hittable for Jones.
