Ruiz was a much more live and legit opponent than Tyson at the time anyways. If Jones had such a glass jaw for his whole career, he would've tasted the canvas many times. You don't go 50-0 without being able to take a shot. You guys just aren't being objective. Something happened with Jones' punch resistance after the Tarver KO loss but before that, his chin was pretty good. He was stunned by Ruiz with a flush right hand but he recovered. A glass jawed joke would've been taken out shortly.

Tyson had one fight plan, when it failed he got his ass kicked. Roy would murder Tyson because Roy had movement, speed, brains, self respect and skill.....Tyson had only insecurity as a weapon.

Jones was about 203 lbs on fight night. All muscle. Off the chart reflexes, great foot speed and amazing hand speed. He would've pot shotted, maintain distance and counter or come with the leaping left hook or lead right and move out again. The only thing Tyson had was a puncher's chance and nothing more. He would've had to lunge in and Jones would've made him pay time and time again.

I don't discount the possibility that Tyson KOs him but i'm pretty sure Jones would've won this one.

My points aren't about his chin, BUT Roys athleticism got him through most fights. He was so damn good he rarely ate a big punch.

Even in the Ruiz fight you could tell he'd lost a little speed. Sure by HW standards he was fast but by Roys standards he'd slowed a little.

Adding the fact he'd never taken a punch from a brutal hitting full blown HW with his speed/reflexs slowed I can only see one outcome in this fight.

Let's face it as good as he looked Ruiz fought an awful fight, showed way to much respect. Plus Ruiz was never a puncher at HW. Tyson wouldn't show the same respect and even then still hit way harder than Ruiz.

Mike would find it very hard to land on Jones at that point in his career. With that being said, Jones wins a UD over 12. Sure Mike wouldn't have to land much to hurt Jones, but that would have been asking a lot from Tyson then. Roy was at the top of his game while Mike was at his lowest.

Tyson is not a slow heavyweight. There is no possible way Jones runs for 12 rounds and doesn't get caught. RUIZ had Jones against the ropes on numerous occasions. I love Jones but i don't even think he can take a Tyson body shot if he was on the ropes. Tyson KILLS him. Badly.

And most people think Titanic was a top 3 ATG film.

Wake up son, most people believe what feels good for them.

Tyson was a bum, Roy would have owned him with ease. Roy has several wins over ATG fighters, Tyson has none....in fact he has nothing even close to a win over a fighter who was more than average.

Jones spent little to no time on the ropes in his prime and Mike was shot to bits when the fight was supposed to take place. Mike has a puncher's chance, that's about it.

Surprising poll scores, I really thought this would be even, I think if this fight ahppened back then jones would have been a slight betting favoured, people act like the jones that fought green shows up vs prime mike.

It really depends if Jay Nady is gonna forbid Tyson any physical contact like he did Ruiz in that first round. Never seen a referee with such a blatant agenda.

If Tyson is forced to box Jones, it's gonna be tough. Although Tyson has a good chin and he keeps throwing wild right hands for a long time. Jones doesn't have the physique to impress Tyson like Douglas did. If just one of these right hands lands, it's over for Jones. So it's a bit like snake-charming for him.

If the referee is less adament about Tyson making contact, Jones is not gonna survive round 1. Tyson rushes in and puts Jones against the ropes, something Roy was always susceptible to. And then he bangs away like nothing Roy could ever have had nightmares about.
