He got knocked out by Foreman. It's not like just anybody knocked him out, but it was the hardest puncher next to Tyson in the divison at the time. There is no shame in being knocked out by Foreman even if Foreman is 45. Should Kelly Pavlik or Felix Trinidad retire because Bernard Hopkins beat them? Is Felix Trinidad not an ATG because he was knocked out in his prime?

Moorer is the first southpaw heavyweight champion. He was an undefeated LHW champion with a perfect knock out rate. He won the HW title 3 times. If Tyson and Lewis are ATGs so is Moorer. And lets not forget that even if you don't like who Moorer fought, he is one of the hardest punchers P4P in boxing history and in his prime he could have beaten anybody by KO, that even includes Roy Jones. I don't think anybody could take Moorer lightly.

OMFG please take a look at Moore's 175lbs record and tell me who he beat to be considered ATG. Also Moorer won "THE" heavyweight title once, he's paper titles don't count for ****.

I don't take him lightly, I just wouldn't quite call him ATG... I agree he is a very good fighter.

Kelly Pavlik shouldn't retire, he lost to a great old Bernard Hopkins but no one is calling Pavlik an all time great though.

And Hopkins wasn't even 40 yet by the time he beat Trinidad, and he wasn't retired either, he was on what would be one of the greatest MW reigns of all time.

Boxmaster, your knowledge of boxing seems 98% dependent on what you've seen on Legendary Nights.

How can you say his titles don't count? The fact is he won those titles and that means he had to beat 100 or so others who also wanted the title. So it was not the mainstream title? Can we say Floyd Mayweather or any of these boxers today are winning the mainstream titles? The fact is it's hard to win a title and you have to be a very good fighter to win the title. To win multiple times in multiple weight classes takes a great fighter. Why can't you give Moorer credit?

Moorers flaw is himself. He let himself lose moreso than anybody was beating him. The only fighter I ever seen completely dominate him was David Tua. This means if Moorer were focused he could have beaten Foreman. He had problems making weight, and being distracted, this is ultimately why he wasn't as great as he could have been, but hes still objectively one of the greatest LHW's of all time. And he's a very good heavyweight, at least as good as Tyson, and nobody is saying Tyson isn't an ATG.

    Who has Tyson beat?

No I just have my own opinions. I don't care which boxer is popular on the forum or in the boxing community. I have my own opinions, what about you?

Because he was HW champ for 6 month and got KO'd by the same guy Tommy Morrison smoked one fight before.

KO percentages don't lie. You can't have a 100% KO percentage over 20+ fights and not objectively have one of the hardest punches of all time. No you aren't going to knock out all those guys are heavyweight, some whom have never been stopped, without having awesome power. The only fighters who had equal power to Moorer in Moorers prime was Tyson and Foreman. That is not debatable.
