Benn was tied to Don King and Jones said he didn't want to fight for King.

King offered Benn and Jones $25,000,000 each. Benn accepted. Jones rejected.

Benn's contract with King expired at the Malinga fight in '96, a fight which he lost and subsequently announced his retirement in the ring directly after.

Don't believe any of this nonsense. There is always two sides to a story. There is a interview on Youtube, where before Jones fight with Byrant Brannon, sports writers ask him a series of questions. And it is explained, with Lampley comfirming this fact, that they offered Benn and others 7 figures to fight, but for some reason they were turned down. So don't come up here saying this nonsense about Jones ducking him. IT IS NOT TRUE. THERE IS EVIDENCE CONSIDERING THIS!

It was confirmed by Lampley. All I am saying there is always two sides to a story, you guys in here just seem to be against Jones for whatever reason. But it was confirmed, in a live interview, with boxing writers and critics, who were asking questions. HBO offered these guys 7 figures, Jones wan't the ONE who said that, it was Lampley -- Jones simply said they offered these guys fights but they didn't take them. So it is not about what comes out of Roy's mouth, there were people who clearly knew about it.

And Jones never took ROIDS, he used a over the counter product called ripped fuel, which was sold over the counter. He injected nothing into his body -- and that fight against Hall was the only time he tested positive for anything.

You gotta love it when people just pull **** (well not **** exactly) out of their ass. Benn was offer 25 million for a fight? Never. Not even close. His biggest payday probably wasn't even a quarter of that figure. :D

Jones's camp offered Benn $10,000,000, but Benn would've had to pay that in the courts for breaking contract with DK.

Benn made more than £5,000,000 total in less than two years from Oct '93 to Sept '95 fights, that was around $10,000,000 so he already had that sort of money floating around his bank accounts and could have made it again with easyish defenses whereas Jones was a career-ending fight.

It was on the front and back pages of national newspapers in the UK at the time, quoted from Don King.

Because Benn would have knocked his head out of the ring.

Benn was the draw in a Benn-Jones fight, so I'm suprised Jones turned it down. Though some say Jones thought King would have generated the interest for the fight by marketing it as a 'revenge mission' for Jones (for McClellan)...

    This is absurdedly false.

HBo talked about a 3 million dollar payday for Benn and Steve Collins, and a 2 million (I believe) for Frankie Liles. Roy Jones didn't make the offer, HBO did. All three were rejected. Though Benn had the most legitimate excuse, he would to have had to pay dearly to break from King. Collins wanted 7 millions
