Sweetheart, it´s not about the distance. London and Paris are more different than New York and Los Angeles. You´ve got no clue what you are talking about. You can be from Munich to Milan in 2.5 hours by car but it´s like travelling into another world, try that anywhere in the US.

DM was the champ, Jones the challenger ...

As much as I think Jones could have used those straps I think you're in the right here..

I write like I talk, and I know the sport pretty well. I'd say that makes my opinion about as relevant as yours, no?

He was already wrong when calling DM a "WBO twat". DM unified before Jones and got stripped (unrightfully). ;) And it´s not revisionist that he was THE champ, that he was already back then.

You do, you´re a good poster. But when somebody writes or talks like you do, I stop reading/listening. I don´t care about opinions of people who can´t even manage to be mildly respectful to their contemporaries.

I like beeing a tightassed teutonic though. :D

I´ve been to the US more than once, made a roadtrip from SF to LV for example. I know the distances over there. So, no I meant what I wrote and I highlighted more than that part, didn´t I? For a reason. Germany and Poland is more different than Nevada and Florida when it comes to the people, culture, language and so on. Like I said, you´ve got no clue what you are talking about here.

DM unified before Jones. HE got stripped for not defending like inside a week or something. He was not just "a WBO champ" he was THE champ. Yeah, Jones is the greater and better fighter, no doubt, but he was the challenger that never wanted to fight the champ, he never proved himself to be the best man in the division. Him not fighting DM Ali not fighting Frazier.

Because beating Steve Collins would have meant sooooo much to anyone outside the British Isles, and his WBO belt was sooooo important.

I mean it's sort of an aside to this thread, but you guys just need to know that Eubank/Collins/whoever passing around the WBO Super Middleweight Championship Of The UK for years during the 90's never meant **** to anyone else and still doesn't.[/QUOTE]

Who said anyone ducked anyone? They didn´t fight. It´s both fault, I wrote that more than once, but Jones´ more since he was the number one contender not willing going to the country of the champ to get the title. I can understand why he didn´t but that doesn´t knock his standing any less.

You really should work on that. It´s not about here. In my life I don´t want to have people around me who are disrespectful. Why should it be any different here?

I´m German. We are too serious to joke. :deal

Of course we do but either you joke or you are discussing stuff. When you are in a debate and you use this kind of phrases and language it shows you don´t respect the person you are debating with. If you don´t respect that person than you don´t give anything on what the says anyway. What´s the point of debating then?

Well a couple of week after changing my outlook and I still find nothing definitive to dispute hills' claim as lineal champ.

Dm was as much a champ as lesnevic and levinski. He was a rightful linear champ even tho he didn't face the best challengers. Add jones to the list of charles, greb and tunney. Great lightheavyweights who never got their shot.

Means the lineage flows through to erdei until his retirement. So I still have hopkins as lineal but I knew dismiss the claims of jones, tarver, johnson and calzaghe.

how could you expect Jones to come to Germany? The most corrupt boxing country in history. It is impossible to win a decision over there.
