Jones has as close to literally no chance as it is possible for a great fighter to have. But I understand some of the frustration in the thread, Jones has been getting hammer lately. The Moore thread was especially bad. But then again, Marciano is literally the worst h2h match up he could have, and for me Moore is the worst at LHW. So, tough **** I guess, but Jones was great.
tarver and johnson were as weak as the others jones faced at 175. the only difference is that jones had come back down from heavy. in the first fight with tarver, it was obvious jones was affected by the weight. jones looked like **** vs glen johnson. he had no legs at all but according to you he was still in his prime.
jones could very well confuse marciano for a good few rounds with his speed. look at walcott, the heavyweight version of roy was bigger than jersey joe, who was giving rocky a damn good fight (winning a lot of the rounds) roy could also drop him, he had a dynamite punch. but marciano had a nuclear punch, one powerful enough to knock a guy like jones out cold. roy couldn't go 12-15 rounds without being tagged at least once. no boxer could, it's virtually impossible. so, rocky most likely grinds him down and knocks jones out, but could potentially say hi to the canvas.
Rocky would take Roy's best and then walk though him, the tougher the fight the more he lked it, not so Roy.
Explain to me how Marciano is a worse match up than Frazier or Tyson who would have destroyed or an Ali or Holmes who would have shut him out (and up) with their jabs alone ...
