Always with the "faked low blows", but never mentioning the fact that Holyfiled didn't even deserve the second chance, Ruiz beat him easily in their first bout. Ruiz has had as much taken from him as he's been "given".
Oh I know mate, what is the deal with this whole 'Jones lacked the skills once his physical ability left'. Even some top level commentators and writers commit such stupid and inaccurate things to say. The worst thing you can say about Jones' technical skills are that he had some bad habits that he got away with due to his tremendous physical ability. But most of his shots were just thrown perfectly textbook and these jackasses can't see that because they watch with rosey-coloured glasses and don't really see things in real time for what they are. Or the whole chin thing...
Jones did what he should have against a mediocre fighter like Ruiz - he completely outclassed him. The only thing that makes it impressive is that Ruiz was naturally bigger. This fight also clearly showed that if the rules were enforced against Ruiz, he would lose to world class fighters. But a great little man will beat a mediocre big man 9 times out of 10. Sometimes I wonder if some of these people trying to pump up Ruiz are Roy Jones fans!!!:huh
