I don't know everything, that's the point. I don't know enough based on Shannon's career to grant him this status as a monstrous puncher, maybe he was but he never proved it to me.

I think he has the all time record of first round KOs, massive puncher, landing it against elite opponents, that's another matter

I think that record says more about the guys he was matched with than anything else.

I am actually amazed anyone would pick Shannon to win this, have people ever watched him fight?

u missed on watching a recent 4mer heavyweight "lineal champion" and a titlist ?
this is basics , like asking if any1 happened 2 watch a Britney Spears videoclip .

I watched him vs Lewis and Wilson , maybe a few others .

Briggs was taller than Tarver , far more aggressive 2d extreme and would have been even far more aggressive against some1 like Jones .

Jones never had anything 2 hurt Briggs with .

A given that a man whom got up from a nearly prime Lewis' best punches multiple times could take punches better than Tarver , Glen Johnson or Reggie Jonson and a man whom floored Lewis , and sadly it is necessary 2 mention that Shannon was taller and much bigger than any1 Jones faced and there4 could hit much harder than those whom KOd or floored Jones .

what a sad man u r , reading and posting here all this time and seriously pondering on d question of Jones vs Briggs .

Your posts in this thread really expose u as d ultima8 clueless that i thought u were .

no, the fact some blind judges thought he beat a 50 year old means nothing.

yeah I see no reason to expect Briggs to land his mythical power punches.

yeah I should try sorting that out, betting on paulie wasn't a good move :-(

was not a gud muv .

So u agree with me that titles mean almost nothing , and d "lineal" tag does not diverge by much from this principle ?

It is enough 4 Briggs 2 catch Jones with a grazing punch 2 KO him cold .
Jones could not block Briggs' punches .
However , he would have landed flush after running 4ward if necessary with no concern of what's coming back , and nothing would have came back .

However #2 , Jones would have never entered d ring against a 40% 4midable opponent than Briggs was .

very bad move, but when pissed, things seem more plausible :good

yeah all a title is is a way for a man to proclaim himself as the best, it's a way for promoters to hype fights. but a title itself doesn't make a man a better fighter.

I disagree, Jones plays it safe and wins a wide decision.
