Roy was hurting in this fight. People who say he had a glass chin should watch it closely. Great moments by RJJ toward the end. Tarver should have fought more balls-out; he tried to back his way in to a career-defining victory.
I had Tarver winning 120-108. Jones did too much running and laying on the ropes. Either way Tarver shattered that Glass Jaw in the rematch then schooled Jones in the 3rd fight.
Roy's unmentioned body work paid dividends for him late. Also, it was pretty ****ing obvious the drop in weight affected him, considering he was huffing for air in the first round.
This was the last good Jones before the KO 's ..Look at the way he was turning Tarver everytime he throws a punch .
Partially agree...He showed a lot of vulnerabilities in this fight but dug deap in the championship rounds...
In that fight Roy Jones look like he was going to pass out even before the 1st round was going to happen.
it's one of my favourite jones fights because as big george points out a great fighter has to dig deep and for once, he DUG DEEP. he won this fight fair and square and actually pretty clearly, doing what he had to despite not feeling the same. if he retired after...
damn, going up to heavyweight and then stripping all that muscle so quickly as well really destroyed Roy Jones, he was always gonna fade when his athleticism went and those fundamentals weren't there, but his heavy adventure brought on his demise quicker.
Damn! I usually make these threads! Thanks for catching it and alerting everybody. :good Too bad I was busy being ***** and checking Facebook.
