So Jones could have been 180-185 pounds in the ring which means he'd have been a HW in the 30s. So could he have beaten the likes of:

    Max Schmeling
    Jack Sharkey
    Nathan Mann
    Primo Carnera
    Jim Braddock
    Bob Pastor
    Tommy Farr

Why people have this obsession of making Roy Jones Jr a HW? He was a great fighter at lower weights, let's stay here.

I feel he has a chance against all of them except maybe Schmeling, Roy would destroy Primo.

It's difficult to say to be honest.

Schmelling did get banged out against a LHW fighter but he had beaten him before and he also dominated Walker and Stribling. I think objectively speaking you have to favour Schmelling in this one. I mean Schmelling as the bigger man is quite a scary proposition for anyone.

Sharkey had a punchers chance, but he showed against Walker and Loughran he can be out maneuvered by a LHW fighter. I'd probably favour Jones here.

Carnera actually has good success against LHW fighters and whilst I was going to pick Jones here, I think Primo gets the job done.

The others all lose to Jones.

He'd beat all of them pretty easily. They'd be thinking they'd entered The Matrix

It's important to note that Sharkey wasn't at his best against Walker and way past his prime in Loughran loss. Look what he did to Tommy a bit earlier.

I agree that Jones could beat Sharkey because Sharkey usually did better against slower fighters and Jones was faster than him. On the other hand, Sharkey would be much stronger man physically and he knew how to use it to his advantage.
    I'd give Pastor decent chances.

Max Schmeling - stoppage loss, Schmeling hit way too hard for Roy and he was smart enough to find him with his right hands.

Jack Sharkey - toss-up, as I said Sharkey was better against slower fighters but he was much stronger.

Nathan Mann - interesting fight, but I'd make Jones favorite

Primo Carnera - very ugly fight and I think that Carnera's huge size advantage could be enough to beat Jones

Jim Braddock - Jones would school Braddock like Loughran did

Bob Pastor - toss-up, Pastor was a great boxer

Tommy Farr - Jones by UD, but Farr was very tough and he could overwhelm Jones.

Of course he could beat them. A prime Jones could have beaten anyone from that era.

Would he? I tend to think that Jones is closer to Lewis than Loughran in style. If he can beat Lewis (although he had ten pounds on him), then maybe he could time Jones. He surely hits harder enough to KO him, and I tend to think Braddock was better than Ruiz.

Jim Braddock would pose a stiff challenge to the RJJ train.

Jones never would have been a hw in any era, he could weigh 200 pounda packed of mass still he did not have hw frame, he was small even for a lhw
